세계유산축전 주제관은 만송정을 바라보는 하회마을 내 민속놀이마당에 위치한다. 7팀의 참여 예술인의 다양한 작품이 서로 다른 성격과 크기의 공간에서 유기적으로 어우러지고, 내·외부 공간이 긴밀히 관계 맺는 집합체로써 기능하도록 설계하였다. 전시 공간과 보조 공간인 아트숍과 창고 등의 영역 또한 하회마을과 주변 풍경을 조망할 수 있도록 곳곳에 창을 포함하여 반외부 공간의 여백을 마련하였다. 한 달 간의 임시건축물이기에 비계와 거푸집 등 가설 건축자재를 적극적으로 활용하였고, 전시종료 후 회수하여 세계유산과의 공존과 비움의 미학을 실천할 수 있도록 계획하였다. 축전 기간 중 하회마을 안의 작은 마을로서 본 주제관의 의미와 가치가 녹아들기를 기대한다.
The Thematic Exhibition of World Heritage Festival 2022 is located in the Folklore Field in Hahoe Village overlooking Pinewoods of Man-Song-Jeong Pavilion. Seven participating artists’ works are being exhibited while organically harmonize in spaces of different characters and sizes. The exhibition space is designed to function as a collection in which the internal and external spaces are closely related. Not only the exhibition space and auxiliary spaces, but also the art shop and warehouse have windows and semi-outdoor voids for each space to be able to look out to the landscape of Hahoe Village.
Since it is a temporary building for only a month period, temporary construction materials such as scaffolding and Euro Formwork were mainly used, for its minimal environmental impact, which then can be re-collected or re-used by the contractors after the exhibition is closed. This was to practice the co-existence with the World Heritage and the aesthetics of emptiness. We look forward to the meaning and value of this thematic exhibition embrace as a small village within Hahoe Village during the festival.
